St. John’s Episcopal Church Implements Creative Solution to Safe Service 150 150 Episcopalians in Connection

St. John’s in Franklinton, Ohio (Columbus) has adapted to a new normal of physical distancing necessitated by Covid-19. They moved their feeding ministry outside, staging distribution from the back of a congregant’s SVU. Volunteers made it easy for the guests of their His Place feeding ministry to maintain a safe distance as they pick up their dinner, while still creating a sense of community. Organizers marked off 6-foot intervals on the sidewalk with chalked crosses so people would remember to maintain their distance.

“We may be physically distancing, but still connecting with our neighbors to fill their basic needs,” observed Rev. John Johanssen, who contributed photos from the feeding ministry.
