After moving a lot during my childhood, from Connecticut to Ohio to California and back to Ohio, I have called Cincinnati my home since 1986. After graduation from Centerville High School, I went to Miami University for my BS in Accounting. After graduation, I started my career at a privately held marketing company that specialized in customer retention through memberships/points/rewards programs. During this time, I earned an MBA from Xavier University and obtained my CPA license.
In early 2002, I left the business world to take a part time position as Finance Director at Hyde Park Community UMC to balance life as a mother with 2 young children. I loved being able to volunteer at their elementary school, help with field trips and began tutoring 2-3 kids after school.
After nearly 10 years at the church, I briefly worked at an IT training company and then landed at Cincinnati Nature Center where I resumed FT work as the Director of Finance and Administration. I really enjoyed being able to be outside every day and although nature is unpredictable and often fraught with problems (i e downed power lines from storms) I was always reminded of the beauty and solace of nature as well.
I returned to the business world in 2018 as Controller for a large architect & engineering firm and am leaving that position to join the Diocese.
My husband, Chris, and I have lived in Hyde Park since 1992 where our kids attended Sands Montessori Elementary and Walnut Hills High School. Our son graduated from Ohio U. and works for PNC bank in the Akron area. Our daughter will graduate from OSU next month with plans to attend medical school. We enjoy hiking, kayaking, gardening, Xavier basketball, the Reds and live music! When events return post-pandemic, you can find us at any of the outdoor festivals that are held around town or just seeing a local band.
