Red Door Community Concert: Pianist Bruce Murray

Pianist Bruce Murray is a Steinway Artist and Professor of Music at Miami University. He is well known in the Oxford Community for his numerous free, public concerts at the Oxford Community Arts Center. He is is an active recitalist, known especially for his performances of Bach, Beethoven, Liszt, and new music. He has performed Bach’s Goldberg Variations some fifty times on three continents. Murray’s repertoire of concertos includes more than forty works for piano and orchestra. The list of conductors with whom he has performed includes Keith Lockhart, Matthias Bamert, Louis Lane, Anshel Brusilow, David Effron, Shinik Hahm, and Paul Polivnick.
Murray received the Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Music in music from Carnegie Mellon University, where he studied with Nelson Whitaker. Murray received the Master of Music and Doctor of Musical Arts degrees from Yale University, where he studied with Ward Davenny and Claude Frank. He undertook further private study with Aube Tzerko and Leonard Shure.
He will perform an eclectic selection of diverse pieces at this noontime concert – which should NOT be missed! You will enjoy his playing and commentary. Hope to see you there!
