We regret to announce that our convocation, scheduled for this Saturday, September 25, must be postponed due to a water pump failure at Procter Center. Sadly, there is no way we can move forward with our plans with no guarantee that running water will be available by Saturday.
The good news: We will still proclaim the dream of beloved community! Even though we can’t be together in person at Procter, we are thrilled to announce that the Rev Canon Stephanie Spellers, Canon to the Presiding Bishop for Evangelism, Reconciliation and Creation Care, will still be with us on Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. to join us in reflecting on what God is dreaming for the church and for all of humanity.
We will gather on Zoom for time together – including music, a keynote by Stephanie, and space for story sharing and dreaming together. Stephanie will share from her new book, The Church Cracked Open, and explore with us how we can embody beloved community and find new hope even in the midst of change and disruption.
Please visit our convocation page for links and updates on these opportunities as they become available.
We do plan to reschedule the in-person event at Procter, most likely in the spring. Stay tuned for that announcement as we look for another date to gather together as a diocesan family.
For another opportunity to hear and be in dialogue with Canon Spellers, be sure to attend the Concert for the Human Family at Christ Church Cathedral on Sunday, Sept. 26!
