Church Music Director/Organist/ Keyboardist (Part-time)

Church of the Ascension, Middletown, is seeking an experienced musician to lead our Sunday and holiday worship services and perform as organist of our music program. The position will provide leadership in selecting music for Sunday and holidays services. Ascension has a tradition of quality organ, piano, and choral music, embracing a traditional Anglican style, as well as Taize and quality renewal music. Choir practice has been immediately preceding Sunday service for 15 minutes, with a very small, experienced choir. Possibility of working with young children. The candidate must demonstrate a broad ability. Familiarity with Episcopal liturgy is a plus. The congregation offers an opportunity to play our 35-bell carillon, and owns a set of handbells and choir chimes.

Number of services: One weekly service plus Christmas Eve, 2-3 Holy Week services, and Easter
