Christmas Joy Purse for Ebola orphans

Christmas Joy Purse for Ebola orphans 750 405 Episcopalians in Connection

A kickball game at the Christmas celebration

Partners-in-Ministry-in-Liberia (PIMIL) invites you to join in donating toward an annual “Christmas Joy Purse” to Liberian Ebola orphans to celebrate Jesus’ birth with family and friends in their respective communities. PIMIL hopes to raise $1,000 by December 12 in order to transmit the funds to Liberia in a timely manner for the celebrations.

The Christmas Joy Purse idea was conceived by the Sunday school and teachers of Trinity, Columbus, at the outbreak of the Ebola epidemic virus in 2014. The Sunday school wanted to identify with the students in their plight and to share the joy of Jesus’ birth with them. The idea has turned into a yearly tradition, but with the impact of COVID-19 it has become difficult for the congregation and others to continue to sponsor the event. The PIMIL board wants to let others know of the opportunity and donate, if possible.

PIMIL sponsors over 100 Ebola orphans in school, and the students are making remarkable progress – yearly promotions, graduating from high school, entering college and training as nurses as their life’s careers!

There are the two ways to donate: Online, using this link, or mail by sending your donation to: St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church, 30 E College Ave. Westerville, OH 43081. Please write PIMIL Christmas Joy Purse in the memo area.
